Eurona Istar SL is an engineering that appeared in 2001 in Barcelona, within Eurona Wireless Telecom SA Group, as engineering department with the objective of to develop projects like: corporate wireless networks (PreWiMAX), local wireless networks and public access (WiFi), networking and routing. The qualitative jump was taken in 2004, when we first deployed a PreWiMAX wireless network in the band of 5.4 GHz for the district of “Pla de l'Estany (Catalonia)” to communicate eleven of their populations, constituting a single data infrastructure in a territorial level: radio links and electronics. He was one of the first projects of this magnitude in the Iberian Peninsula. Obviously this was the first but not the last: corporate wireless network to Miguel Torres and corporative networks for government agencies such as: Arenys de Mar City Hall, Reus City Hall, Tortosa City Hall, Calafell City Hall; and many others in Catalonia we are delighted to say that are fully operational.
Soon we began to explore other rapidly emerging technologies that we added to our know-how: access control, CCTV and perimeter security. We design and install a telesecurity network: IP cameras, recording server and control access for the Golf Course Terramar (Sitges). But we could also offer this type of service to government agencies such as the very excellent: Salt City Hall, Sant Vicenç dels horts City Hall and others. These projects are also operating and running nowadays.
In 2007 we began deploying the first mesh networks with pilots in cities like: Barcelona (22 @), Sabadell and Terrassa. One of the first and most important WiFi-MESH networks in private hands was designed for Marina Barcelona 92, where we add the knowledge of telesecurity systems and install a wireless network that so far is working. In a government agency level one of the first WiFi-mesh networks in the country was designed for the Asco City Hall to mitigate the digital divide in the population.
In late 2008, the engineering department of Eurona Wireless Telecom, began to work independently (split from the parent company) under the legal form of Cidec A Praxis Technologies. In early 2009 we changed the name to the current. In late February 2010 we moved to a excusive dependences in the population of Cornella de Llobregat, where it is now the headquarters of the company.
Currently, we are doing projects with partners like: Orange, Abertis and Elecnor, to their Excellencies: Barcelona City Hall and Viladecans City Hall, with collaborations that we hope to continue and increase.
As engineering we have projected: the WiFi-mesh networks for the City Hall of Sant Cugat and Salou.
